During my usual shooting, the photographers tell me to smile or cool but this time I’ve been told to have a thoughtful look, it felt super fresh and fun. When I looked at the photos, I thought that the photos were very cool and released lots of feelings, and also that they put so much make-up on my face (laughs). I wear black clothes so much that the BiShounen members started calling me “The Crow”. On the other hands, the clothes I wore for this shooting were so colorful it felt super fresh. I want to take this opportunity to get unique items in various types of color for this Fall.

While I don’t have much interest in fashion, I’m really fond of hair styles and make up. Before I joined Johnny’s, I took an appointment to a beautician and had to wait three months for it. Since I can’t go there anymore I learned how to style my hair alone. I have 9 hair irons. I needed one for curling my hair, one for straightening etc… And I bought a new one every time and before I knew it, I had nine of them. (laughs)  It takes me a while to prepare in the morning. I wake up like two hours before the meeting times, I take a bath, wash my face, apply lotion and make sure to apply my make-up and style my hair nicely. I want to show off beautiness so that I live up to the name of my Unit “BiShounen” (Beautiful Boys). Within the group, we exchange advice and references about cosmetics (laughs).

I can’t live without music. In the mornings, in order to get some energy to go throughout the day, I listen to Ariana Grande’s (whom I love) Break Free or Justin Bieber’s Beauty and A Beat; when I listen to these, I get the feeling that I can go through the day smoothly. On the other hand, when I want to relax to spend a good night, I take a walk outside and listen to Kinoko Teikoku’s Chronostasis. Since I was born, I’ve always been hypersensitive. In order to channel these feelings I tried various things, eventually I came to understand that listening to music was the best way to deal with my overflowing feelings.Thanks to music I can feel comfortable everyday!

I enjoy reading and I often read Hoshi Shinichi’s science fiction novels. I started off by reading his “short short” stories but “Delusion Bank” was my favorite work of his so far. The development is interesting and the way he puts his thoughts into words is excellent. When I was younger, I used not to read books at all and as a result I really sucked at Japanese language. However, when I was a junior high school student, one of my teachers recommended it to me and I couldn’t stop reading it. Without even noticing I improved my Japanese language skills so much. I really love Ikeido Jun’s novels and started to read them all. I often watch dramas that are based on Ikeido’s stories. I also watched the drama “Hanzawa Naoki”. I wish I could appear in such a dense drama someday…

I also really like watching movies and dramas. During the quarantine period, I was quite fond of all types of works. The one I watched that was really impressive was “Mellow”. It was super interesting to see various pattern of love and human relationships such as unrequited love, homosexuality, and illicit love affairs. Also, the movie “The Beauty Inside” was amazing. The appearance of the male hero changes every morning. It’s a story about a woman who has fallen in love with the hero and realizes that what really matters is what we have inside, not our appearance. Since the face of the hero changes everyday, more than 100 actors are acting in the movie and yet, everyone is super good at acting. I think I have learned a lot from this and the story was very interesting. I like watching romance dramas so I hope that someday I can appear in one. Though I find it difficult to act love without an actual love experience and even if I try to hide my experience and act it all, it’s really scary for me. For some reason, I often get romance advice sessions from my friends so I get to study these fields. I memorize them as if I would have a test the other day but at the end of the day, it’s just a simulated experience of love. (bitter laugh)

I love human beings and I’m really interested in them. Even in my sociology classes at University, I study various things from the representation of Japan to LGBTQ issues and everything’s very interesting. I feel very lucky to be able to meet diverse types of people, like my school teachers, friends or people I meet through work. The friends who took notes for me while I was busy with work before are in the same cursus as me so we’re still hanging out together. I’m also getting along well with the members of BiShounen. One of these members is Sato Ryuga with whom I’m especially close to. We’ve been working together for plenty of years and Johnny-san even told us that “we are a great match for each other” and he wanted us to “grow up together while energizing each other”. As he said, we are still growing up together.

For this time, I play the role of Takeuchi Shougo in the drama “Neechan no Koibito”, he is a cheerful, often teased and friendly young boy. Usually, I’m always being teased by the members of BiShounen so my acting might be close to who I really am. At some points,  he has that line that says “For this period, I’m really anxious to meet new people as I’m timid but I shall cherish the happiness that the situation will bring me.”, this sentence truly moved me. It's engraved within my heart. As we are all scared about the coronavirus, this drama will truly gently cheer up the viewers so I would love everyone to watch it.
