This is your first appearance in this magazine. First, tell us how you were formed !

Igari: Well, at first, there was a time when I was with these these two people (pointing to Hashimoto-kun and Inoue-kun) and another member who has quitted, could do roller skating, and when it was expected soon another group would be formed, by chance around that time Johnny-san got interested in roller skating as well... I was pretty much born with roller-skates and after being scouted to create a unit, the group was born in Fall 2015.

Inoue: We appeared in the one stage corner and at first I could only go straight while Gari-san was the only one who could skate properly ahahaha.

Igari: It’s like the group was created on Johnny-san’s whim ahahaha. But then, the members often changed, Yuuto joined us in 2016 and finally Sakuma joined us in February 2018, which is now our current formation.

Takahashi: At first when Johnny-san came to see the five of us performing, there were times he pointed out how scattered we were and just with the opening song. We managed to take advantage of our mistakes and corrected them to develop our own style and then Johnny-san praised us. Since we discussed and started from scratch countless times, I have the feeling we can now produce lives with confidence.

Igari: Our first year was just very bad but at that time we didn’t have a track record of what we did so it was natural the STAFF wouldn’t really trust us. However, we got to think about what we wanted to do and suddenly our lives became fun!

Inoue: I’m personally no good at creating content from scratch. I rather accommodate to what other people create so this is why I think that having someone like Gari-san who can create anything from scratch in the group is amazing. I’m really happy to be in the same group as him and I really enjoyed the song he created for our unit for the August live-streaming.

Hashimoto: This song was hella cool by the way!

Sakuma: Gari-san can create choreographies and write lyrics and rap segments, you’d be truly surprised how complete his songs are! He is truly the group’s proud creator!

Igari: Don’t call me like that! This pressures me. But really, I was so happy the STAFF gave me their support for the songs I created. I’m very grateful for Johnny’s to make me feel like I can challenge anything. The choreographer and some Juniors came to the tour to study the way I performed my chill solo song and also the unit song I share with Mizukkun. I’m very grateful for that. Also, Hashimocchan and Sakuchan’s skit was also good!

Hashimoto: Imma explain for those who haven’t seen it but it was a corner to link songs together. The two of us became Americans named Johnny and Simon.

Takahashi: I was the one who initiated it but after that we created more and more characters. Live viewings are prone to make the audience feel left behind (because they don’t directly participate) I also appeared in the skit but only at the 3rd part though. The whole talk was handled by these two guys so in case it was boring, it’s all their fault.

Igari: Eh, I thought you’d use this opportunity to praise them but not at all hahaha.

Inoue: I thought the same too!

Sakuma: He took the opportunity to bully us hahaha. When I thought we were in this together...!

Hashimoto: Well, regardless of whether it was interesting or not, I have the feeling we were able to grow a lot from doing this. My mental has improved!

Inoue: Hashimocchan’s solo guitar was also great! You’ve searched through Johnny’s band songs and prepared it to the point you were obsessed.

Hashimoto: Well I choose my solos based on your approval. I can’t bring myself to do it if you guys don’t approve.

Takahashi: Yep. In order to be professional, it’s good to follow the overall opinion and make sure to match the supplies and demands!

Igari: We were able to do things that could only be done through live viewing in August. This is a very satisfying point! In the case of our songs, the content of our lyrics is also important so if it’s a streaming, the lyrics can be displayed on the screen!

Takahashi: The three things that are the most important for HiHi is being passionate, making sure we enjoy what we do and involving everyone in our lives. We have a lot of energy and enjoy everything with all our might, so this is why the people who get caught with us enjoy it so much! Those are qualities that we would love the readers of ViVi to be appealed with.

Igari: Some people may dislike it though ahahaha. This is why we’re not going to say such things as “Please come to see our next concert!”. We’d rather opt for a gentle attitude like “The five of us are going to do a live, let’s do it together if that’s okay?”

Hashimoto: Besides our performances, I really like our MC when we go like “The typical High School Student Break Time”. Anyways, being with these guys is truly relaxing.

Inoue: I hope that this group dynamic we created has the power to draw people to us.

When did you set up such a group dynamic?

Igari: It was in 2018.

Takahashi: Huh? When exactly?

Igari: Yanno. When Sakuma joined us.

Takahashi: Ah, I see! That’s pretty much it.

Sakuma: Ahahaha….(embarrassed) Also, the potential of each members’ personality is clearly blooming so I think it would be nice if people could appreciate not only the group but each of us individually.

Igari: In the end, it’s obvious that roller skates are very important for us, it’s the core of the group but it’s only one of our various strengths. I believe that our group's strong point is that we never give up on our work. Lives don’t have a correct answer or final point so I don’t know whereas this will pay off in the future though. However, we don’t think about it much, we just focus on making sure to enjoy ourselves and make our audience happy.

Takahashi: Definitely. I think we are able to perform with such confidence because we thoroughly prepared ourselves for that.

Igari: For example, if we had a restaurant, we can’t afford to serve meals that we don’t think are delicious, right? I definitely wanna elaborate and deliver to our customers a menu composed of only delicious meals specially chosen for them.

Takahashi: Yeah, that’s nice.

Igari: As for the food, I properly make sure my relatives have a taste of it hahaha. Whether you get addicted to us or not, we’ll make sure it’s not bad for you!

Takahashi: If you’re interested in the “entertainment” we provide, I’d recommend starting from the videos we publish on YouTube so please check them out!
